Talking out the window of a fast moving car continues my interest in the notion of musical
independence, here applied to a monodic solo line. Throughout the piece, different fragments of the openingmelodic line are transformed in different ways and at different rates. Like a mechanism ticking away, the piece slowly revolves around itself, gradually revealing the music whilst simultaneously changing it constantly.
